Movies I like

Consider this as a post that's been missing from my blog.

Movies I've liked the most.. due to some or other reasons :). The list is in a kinda random order. So this is in no way a top 10/20/50 or something.

And this list will keep getting updated as and when I remember to add to the list. So feel free to bookmark and visit.

Bollywood:
1. Swades (2004) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367110/
Consider this as SRK's best ever performance.
2. Paheli (2005) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451850/
Another best. Love the way the movie has been made.
3. Bluffmaster (2005) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0476527/
Love everything about the movie, right from the characters, the score, music, theme, to the plot.
4. Johnny Gaddar (2007) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1077248/
One movie that you just cannot miss! Totally out of ordinary. If I hadn't watched this, I wouldn't have watched Pulp Fiction which kinda sits on top of my Hollywood list! Love the vintage treatment and references are made to classics.
5. Bunty Aur Babli (2005) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448206/
This movie just feels so close to my heart, for some reason :)
6. Om Shanti Om (2007) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1024943/
Love it for its Pop Culture of Hindi Cinema - Mothers of 70s ringing temple bells, cute sidekicks of 80s, bell-bottoms and lots more.
7. Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2003) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0374887/
For its simple message of 'handling' things, the happy way, in Life.
8. Don (2006) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0461936/
Excellent re-plot of the original.

At this point I'm wondering how I have 4 SRK movies in the list out of 8 and not even one from Aamir or anyone else! But this list will get updated over time.

Hollywood
1. Pulp Fiction
2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
3. The Godfather (1972)
4. The Godfather: Part II (1974)
5. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
6. Goodfellas (1990)
7........ To be Contd

Well I realized the Hollywood list is gonna be huge.. and will have most of IMDB Top 250. So I'll leave it at there.

Please leave a comment if you happened to read up to here :) Thanks!

Embracing Imperfection

Well this post is the most perfect way for me to continue blogging. It's a nice email forward I received this morning, and thought it's best for the whole world to read and embrace!

Do read and take care!

Embracing Imperfection

A story by a girl.

"When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner
every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made
breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my
mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned toast in front of
my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was
reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I
don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember Watching him
smear butter and jelly on that toast and eat every bite!

When I got Up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom
apologize to my dad For burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he
said: 'Baby, I love burned toast.'

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if He
really liked his toast burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, 'Debbie,
your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And
besides-a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!' You know, life is full of
imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best housekeeper or
cook.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each other's
faults - and choosing to celebrate each other's differences - is the one of
the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting
relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the
bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of GOD.
Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a
relationship where burnt toast isn't a deal-breaker! We could extend this to
any relationship in fact - as understanding is the base of any relationship,
be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!! "

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket but into your
own."
